Bio

Alfredo "Freddy" Ortega, a native of Chihuahua, Mexico, immigrated to the United States in 2009. Freddy achieved a significant milestone in 2020 when he graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso. Currently, he is pursuing his Master's degree at Texas Christian University on a full scholarship, with an anticipated graduation in 2026.

Freddy's art has received international acclaim, notably through the Ambos Lados traveling exhibition, whose closing reception was held at the El Paso Museum of History, granting him his first museum show. Among his numerous accolades, he proudly holds the Arlene Smith McKinnon Endowment Purchase Award for Overall Best of Show.
